Koliofoutis V. Athanasios was born in Thessaloniki in 1972. Having completed his upper secondary studies in 1990, he studied Theology in the department of Theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After graduating in 1995, he began his post-graduate studies in the field of Systematic Theology specializing in Pastoral Theology. Since 2002 he has been awarded with a post-graduate degree. In April of 2008 he was selected as a Ph. D. Canditate in the same department mentioned above. After carrying out his doctoral research entitled « Τhe pastoral approach of the needs and problems of the body of the church in the texts of the two Anastasios A′ and B′, Patriarchs of Antioch », he was awarded with a Ph.D. in Pastoral Theology. Since 2003 he has served as a teacher of Theology in the secondary level of education, after his successful participation in the competition of ASEP in 2002. In April of 2015 he was elected as a Part Time Associate Professor in the sector of Ethics and Sociology of the department of Theology at A.U. Th. in the scientific area of “Ethics” ( position of PD 407/1980). He speaks English fluently and good German. His research interests focus on exploring issues of applied Pastoral Theology. He has participated as a speaker in various conferences of theological and wide scientific interest and has published studies and articles in scientific magazines and local newspapers. He lives in Thessaloniki with his wife, Sophia Chatzipapadopoulou, a teacher of the English Language and Literature and their son Marios.
