Kai W. Müller (Dr. rer. physiol.) is scientific and clinical researcher at the Outpatient Clinic for Behavioral Addictions, Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, Germany. He received his degree in Psychology at the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz with a special focus on clinical and economic and consumer psychology. Since its foundation in the year 2008 he is affiliated with the Outpatient Clinic for Behavioral Addictions. His primary scientific interests concern pathogenesis, diagnostics, and neuroscientific correlates of Internet Gaming Disorder and Gambling Disorder. Since 2016 he holds the Ph.D. for his scientific work on personality factors and their role as risk factors in the development and maintenance of internet and computer game addiction.
