Maya Alivizatou is a child and adolescent psychologist. After graduating from Athens College, she attended Boston University, Boston, MA where she pursued a BA in Psychology. She then received her MA in Child Development from Tufts University, Boston, MA. She completed her Ph.D at Sheffield University, England.
While in the Unites States, she conducted research and worked in the field of learning disabilities. Since 1998 she has been working in Greece as a school psychologist. From 2000 up to today she has been working as a school psychologist at the Hellenic-American Foundation (Athens College-Psychico College), where, since 2011, she has been the Head of the Psycho-educational Department.
In 2008 she co-founded the Centers for Creative Play in Athens, “My Playce”.
Her main areas of interest are parent counseling, educating educators, evaluation and diagnosis of emotional and learning difficulties in children and adolescent.
